Travelling is one of those experiences that can cure almost anything. From boredom to stress, monotony to narrow-mindedness, travel opens your eyes to a world of possibilities and shows you things you’ve never been able to see or feel before. And that’s probably why more and more people across the world are travelling; be it solo, with friends or family.

Travelling can turn out to be an experience, an eye-opener and in some cases, an enlightening journey; only if you wish to unlearn. Here are a few points to be taken into consideration if you wish to travel, and hope to learn something new.

Talk to strangers: Contrary to popular belief, talking to people on trains, buses, flights can be an eye-opener. Everybody has a story to tell, a thing to teach and an idea to share. Make the most of everyone’s wisdom and meet and talk to as many people as you can. It’s absolutely fine and safe as long as you know where to draw the line and you are completely aware of your surroundings.

Hope for surprises: Sometimes, hoping for surprises can be a good thing. You never know what’s in store for you until you try to jump into it. In this context, if you are open to views, ideas and experiences and aren’t too rigid about anything, in particular, chances are you will be pleasantly surprised during your holiday. And this surprise will surely turn into a memory of a lifetime.

Keep it unplanned: A planned trip is a safe one and a good one. However, some parts of your trip should be unplanned. Or should we say, is best when it’s unplanned? Don’t be too particular about sticking to the itinerary or not trying a particular cuisine. Give your preconceived notions a pass and live in the moment. You’ll be glad you did.

Save nothing: Travel as much as you can and spend as much as you should. If you’re travelling to Europe, don’t let savings be your primary agenda. Let the experience be. Save only if you can or have to, and allow yourself to discover something you’ve come this far for. Don’t save unnecessarily. Also, don’t splurge unnecessarily. Be sure you maintain a balance to make the most of every penny spent on your dream holiday.

While taking the path less travelled or doing things in a different way may help in a better travel experience, there’s one constant that never changes: staying connected with loved ones. The best way to do that is by choosing a UK sim card in India before you take off to wonderful Europe and experience the wonderful.
